Common Questions
Is Inkspot really free for solo artists?
Yes — on the Solo Starter plan, you can enable pass-through of both the $4.99 booking fee and the Stripe processing fee. When both are on, every fee is covered by the client and your net cost is $0. There's no monthly subscription, no hidden charges.
Will clients be surprised by the booking fee?
No. When pass-through is enabled, every fee is shown as a clear, itemized line item on the client's checkout screen before they confirm payment. Nothing is hidden. We've designed this to be fully transparent for the client experience.
When does Solo Pro make more sense than Starter?
If you're doing more than 8 bookings a month, Solo Pro at $39/month works out cheaper than $4.99 per booking — and you get unlimited bookings, priority search placement, and no per-booking fee regardless of volume.
Are there any transaction fees on studio plans?
No platform transaction fees — your flat monthly rate covers everything. You still pay Stripe's standard processing fee (2.9% + $0.30), but like all plans, you have the option to pass that to clients.
Can I switch between monthly and annual billing?
Yes, you can switch at any time. Switching to annual locks in a 20% discount from your next billing cycle. Switching back to monthly takes effect at your next renewal with no penalty.
What payment methods do clients use?
Inkspot processes payments through Stripe, so clients can pay with any major credit or debit card, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. Studio plans with high volume can contact us about negotiated Stripe rates.
